Now for the quick post:
What I'm Thankful for, in Order from Most to Least Important. (Just kidding. No order.)
1. Health. Among other things, this includes myriad doctors and nurses, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, vaccines, medicine, and my Dad still going strong.
2. Metrosexual Hubby who's not afraid to do the laundry
3. Kid B, who's pretty sure he knows how to talk, it's just the people around him who don't know how to listen.
4. Kid C, who can negotiate the skin off a chihuahua.
5. Friends, who understand the madness that comes with writing, and hang with me anyway.
6. Writer Friends, who don't flinch when one of us says, "Then I had a breakdown." Because what writer doesn't have a breakdown? We're all, "That's not even worthy of setting down my hot chocolate."
7. Extended family, complete with nannies, readers, friends and kindred souls. (Wow. I'm getting sorta mushy.)
8. Parents, who raised me to believe most kids read Shakespeare for fun. (I'm thankful now, but man, growing up... )
9. Blog Readers, who keep coming back despite my stories of pus, abs, spiders and pee.
10. Blog Commenters, who give me something to look forward to every day.
So, what are y'all thankful for?

ReplyDeleteI'm thankful I got to see New Moon last night and truly appreciate your previous posts. (Although I'm not so thankful that, after going to sleep around 1 a.m. that my 2 year old decided 4:15 was a good time to wake up.)

ReplyDeleteI'm grateful to be able to spend time with my family. My hubby is home for four days and I couldn't be happier.
I'm thankful for all of that, too! In the miracles-of-modern-medicine category, I'm thankful my hubby lived through the age of 21 thanks to a kidney transplant; otherwise I wouldn't have known all the humor I'd have been missing the past seven years! (How was that for past present participling?)
ReplyDeleteMore recently, I did my thankfulness post about writers I'm grateful for. Yes, I did cringe about having a preposition at the end of the title, and I did rule out "Writer for Whom I'm Thankful" as too snobby-sounding, and I did check with hubby about whether or not to capitalize "for" if it's the last word (not that he knows more than I do in that realm, I just wanted a second opinion and he was the closest adult, again thanks to the aforementioned transplant).

I'm thankful for funny blog posts that lighten my day while at work. I'm also thankful for my family, friends, holidays and vacations and no work on those days, good books, and tons of other stuff.

ReplyDeleteI am thankful that I get to have Thanksgiving dinner at my parent's house, where the food is good, and not my family in law's house, where the food is not as good. Also not my own house, where it is quite possible the food would be inedible.
I am also thankful for your previous blog posts about Zuppas. If I ever need to laugh, I think about those.
I wasn't accusing you of being cheesy and lame...I said that I would feel that way. Although, it is interesting you would jump to that assumption. Let's explore that...tell me about your childhood....

Eden- I would like to be remembered, in eulogy, that I brought Zombies, The Office (Brits), and Buffy into someone's life. Then when I am questioned at the pearly gates, I'll say, "I made a difference to that one."

I'm thankful for my family and friends and my son who is still growing and getting ready to meet this world in January.

ReplyDeleteWe've got two names picked out, but we've decided not to name him until we meet him face to face. So barring any unforeseen disasters, he'll either be named after my hubby (which makes him the third) and we'll call him Trey or he is named after my hubby's grandfather and my great uncle (they both died before hubby or I could meet the other's relative) John Thomas.
