In Which we see Thor, and Sam Learns to Appreciate the Male Form

This morning, I'm one follower away from 300. I only point this out because 299 just doesn't seem like a stable number. 299 is the seconds left before the bomb goes off. 299 is the cholesterol level of a large man. 299 isn't a real number. Nobody wants 299 potato chips. A package of 299 paper clips makes me think one is missing.
So now, with 299 followers, I feel like one is missing. Where are you, little lost follower?

On to the post:

Hubs and I went to see Thor over the weekend.
And the son of Odin was not amused.

Thor sure is a cutie-pie. At one point, he took his shirt off, and I leaned over to Sam and said, eloquently, "Oh, homina homina."
Has anyone seen my love handles? They must've been left behind as I fell from Heaven.

Sam responded with, "Are you under the delusion that you're with your girlfriends right now?"

And I was all, "I'm sorry, but even you have to admit the beauty of this human specimen in front of us. When Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel, do you think he was all, 'I'm a guy. Can someone else tell me if Adam looks right?'"

And Sam was like, "I think Michelangelo had a pretty good idea of what the male form looked like."
me: "Exactly. Michelangelo wasn't afraid to admit when something was beautiful, man or woman."

Sam: "Yes, but Michelangelo isn't my go-to guy for lessons on how to be a man."

me: "Well then, let's look at Da Vinci..."
me: "He knew all about the human form, and-"

Sam: "Can we at least pick someone from this century?"
me: "Um... J. Edgar Hoover?"

Sam (bored with the conversation): "Look, if I say 'homina', can we just watch the rest of the movie in peace?"

me: "Yes."

Sam: "Homina."

me: "I know! Isn't he, though?"
Anyone else see Thor? Anyone else say "homina"? Anyone know of a man's man in the last century who could openly appreciate the male form?

  1. I haven't seen Thor yet, but I do appreciate a nice body when I see one! ;) Those ab muscles? **swoon**

  2. Chantele- I know! Double swoon. Thanks for being man enough to admit it. ;)

  3. Ha ha! Yeah, I thought homina homina too when I saw that seen. He looked very pretty and very well-built. I love a man with nice abs, pecs, and hip dents. *swoon*

I loved the movie. How about you? Did you stay after the credits and see the teaser for The Avengers?

  4. Jenni- I did stay. It looks awesome! although I really think Thor should have his own movie again. :)

  5. hey your're at 300! grace say thor...WITH girlfriends. not sure if she got the plot or not, but she did mention how good it was! (hee hee)

  6. Brodi I love you! And I love that Sam gave in and said "homina"! Love it!

  7. I saw Thor too and thought it was lots of fun. I don't think I said, "Homina," though. I do remember asking my husband if it made me crazy that I liked Loki the best of all the characters.

  8. Dorien- Was there a plot? Guess I missed it. Looks like I'll have to see it again. ;)

Aubrey- I knew he was always saying it on the inside. It was time he admitted it.

Jenilyn- Really? Loki's the best? Um, okay. Whatever floats your boat. Mmmmm... Loki... Homina. :)

  9. Really want to see that movie. Hubby might have taken me for my b-day (Saturday), but I was busy editing. :) What's better than Thor? Finishing my book already!!

  10. Haven't seen it. But I'll say it. HOMINA! Oh, and I remember hearing Brad Pitt saying that he can admit when another man is good looking. And I would consider Brad to be a man's man. :)

  11. Ha ha ha! Brodi, you always make me laugh. I can't wait to see this one, especially with abs like those being so prominently featured...

  12. Katie- Yes! Brad Pitt! Why didn't I think of him? He is most definitely a man's man.

Shallee- The left one, third from the top, is the best. (I'm talking abs.)

  13. ROFL ... oh, Brodi! You so just made my day! We saw Thor a week ago. It was fun to watch. And Captain Kirk's father aka Thor has done a great job buffing up.

Did you really say that in front of Sam? And did he really say that in reply? I so want to sit behind you guys the next time you go to a movie together. That would be worth the price of admission all by itself.

I don't say homina. It makes me think of hominy know, that swollen corn they make grits out of.

    Where does it come from?

  14. Donna- I'm not sure of the origins of "homina". It's just what came out of my mouth when I saw Thor with his shirt off. Thankfully I have no knowledge of swollen corn, so it did not interfere with my ogling. ;)

  15. Saw it. And though I did NOT lean to my husband and say "homina" I thought it... or at least something like it! YOWZA maybe? Or.. oh my... or maybe my chin just fell to the floor? :)

  16. Thor totally needs his own movie again! So does Iron Man. I can't believe that Sam is so jealous of Thor's body that he can't appreciate it! How sad... Oh well, that's a typical guy for ya.

p.s. Thor's body is even hotter in 3D!

  17. Suey- Yowza is so appropriate as well. My chin is still on the theater floor.

Sal- If I'd seen it in 3D, I probably would've tried to tackle him right then and there. And that would've been awkward. Especially for the people in front of us.

  18. He does definitely deserve his own movie again. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Jane hook up for more than just a kiss at the end.

And, on an unrelated note, why are there homonyms in English? I hate them! I put "seen" when I really meant "scene." So annoying! Okay, rant over.

  19. Jenni- homonyms are horrible! I can't tell you how many times I mix up they're, their, there, even though I totally know the difference! It makes me look like a doofus.

  20. Oh man, I was like ALL about those hip dent things. Do they have a technical term? Because I'd like to write a whole book about a boys with sexy hip dents. :)

And I almost spit out my Dt. Mt Dew all over my laptop at your J. Edger Hoover comment. Hahahaha!

  21. Olivia- I think the technical term is "hip dent thingees". And yes, they deserve their own movie.

  22. All you had to say was 'naked men' on twitter and did you see how fast I came over here. That's bad. :) Yes, I saw Thor. Yes, he is the perfect example for all mankind. :)

  23. You made it to 300+!!! I think the best part about working at a movie theatre is tgat I can just watch the shirtless part over and over:)

  24. LOL! Yeah, I thought Natalie Portman was pretty cute and she even got out a coherent sentence or two while he was parading around. :)

  25. Kasie- I knew "naked men" would attract people. A certain kind of people, but people nonetheless. Congrats again on your deal!

Andrea- I envy you your job!

Christy- Yeah, she spent much of the time giggling like a school girl. I did too.

  26. I think I actually said "Sweet baby Moses"... but under my breath, cuz hubs was next to me and he's not able to appreciate the male form.

  27. I haven't... but I really want to see it after seeing these pictures.

  28. Suzanne- Very eloquent thing to mutter under your breath. At least it's actual words! And tell your hubby that Brad Pitt can appreciate the male form, why not him? :)

Jenn- Homina, indeed. To the nth degree.
