Thing #1 and Thing #1, and vote on if my Behavior makes me a Stalker

Hey y'all!

Just a Friday quickie of Thing #1 and Thing #1 before my big New York trip:

Thing #1

Are you going to be in the NYC area next week?

BFACP (Best Friend and Critique Partner) Emily Wing Smith is participating in a Teen Author Reading Night on June 1st.

Here are the details:
Date: June 1, 2011
Place: Mulberry Street Branch of the New York Public Library (Corner of Mulberry and Jersey)
Time: 6-7:30

If you're in the area, please come! Everyone is welcome. I'll be there too, so come and say hi. Bree Despain (author of The Dark Divine) will be there too.

Thing #2

I still think about my major high school crushes. Not in a "Man, I'd love to trade up, and I wonder what he's up to" kind of way, but more in a "Who did he marry? Where does he live? Is he successful? Is Sam more successful? (kidding)"

And my biggest crush from high school isn't on Facebook. He's not on Twitter. I don't even know if he's married, where he lives, what he does. This is driving me crazy! Not "so Crazy I can't sleep at night" but more in a "Once a month, when I check Facebook, it would be convenient if he were on there..."

So, here's the vote. Does this sort of behavior make me:

A: So totally normal. Everyone remembers their high school crushes. That's why we love to read Y.A.

or

B: Stalker. To the nth degree. Give me his name so I can warn him now not to leave his pet rabbit alone in the back yard.

  1. Whew! Normal. I didn't really have crushes in HS, but my college crushes come to mind often, as does my gay BFF from HS, and I do wonder what became of them. HS friend refuses to be located. College crushes, well, haven't looked yet. Will now. :)

  2. How about A and B? But, I'm the same way. I look up my "first love" about once a month too to see if he's finally joined Facebook. I want to know how he's doing. I know he's married, but I want to know if he still is, if he has kids, what he does, etc. So, I understand completely.

  3. I don't think you're a stalker. I had a friend as a kid that moved away and every now and then I try to find him. Nothing! So frustrating.

  4. Wow. It's been so long since my first crushes, they're probably all dead. Enjoy your memory while you have it. =D

  6. WHAT? Trade up? What on earth are you talking about? You have all the metrosexiness in a man you could dream of...I have more brilliant dance moves than all of those other guys...I could go on and on.

And yes, I am more significantly more successful than all of your former crushes. I mean, c'mon, do any of them drive a 1975 International Scout? Case closed!

  7. I have to know. I have to know!! Who is it? Is it the same as my high school crush? I will totally tell if you do! Mine played football. #50. Wayyyy cute butt!

  8. Thanks, y'all for making me feel better! Except Jenni, who said a little A and a little B. (Just kidding, Jenni.)

Sam- You are totally more successful than my exes. Just like I'm cuter than all of your exes. Right? Right?!

Sal- No way am I naming names! But I will say the crush I'm thinking of specifically didn't go to our high school. Although I crushed on plenty of people from our high school.

Now I have to track down my yearbooks to find out who was #50! I'm racking my brain, mentally filing through all the butts I can remember...

  9. B, it's too funny that you log your crushes according to tushy hawtness. ROFL! Yet, surprisingly this all sounds totally normal to me.
p.s. I get the impression that your Sam is adorable, congrats!

  10. Stalking sounds a little too illegal, but snooping is ok! We all snoop. Don't worry...in fact, the reason I linked to your blog from your Mom's, was because I recognized your name from a conversation I had with someone from your past. It sounded like not catching you is his life's biggest regret. Maybe you better hide YOUR pet bunny! I would tell you who it is, but I am guilty of snooping on him! What can I say, he leads a fascinating life. Apparently he can claim a few amazing dance moves of his own & he's very successful. I'm just sayin'...you may be able to use this info to get a nice Jamaican vacay with the hubby, since he has competition!

  11. Katie- Sam is adorable! Thanks for making his year.

Laura- Who is it? Who Who WHO?!

Let's see: someone who dances, someone who loves bunnies... I'm going to be guessing all week.
