Guess what I got in the Mail? I'll give you Four Hints

I got something in the mail yesterday.

It's skinny...

It's got shiny parts...

It's got pretty words...

It's got a high-tech doohickee...
I don't know what this means. Is it a map of the Underworld? Is it a hidden message from the Cybermen?
Can anyone guess what I got in the mail?

It's an actual jacket cover!

I believe if you stare at the app bar code long enough, you might be transported to the Everneath. Or maybe I don't understand apps. Or bar codes.

So, what's everyone doing this weekend? Are you going out of town? Are you going to stare at the app bar code until you see a hidden image? If you do, tell me what it is!

  1. I'm drooling!!!! It's so amazing!! Now I need a smart phone so I can get the free Everneath app.

How are you keeping it so nice and uncrinkled? Aren't you tempted to hug it all the time? Sleep on it? Dance on it? Fold it into a kite and fly it?

Or are you using Herculean self-control to save it for a fancy frame? Did they send you two?

  2. Oh my gosh! It's so pretty! I can't wait to have one of my own in January! :D

  3. Kimberly- Thanks!

Robin- Amazingly they sent me like five copies. I'm using them for wallpaper.

Jenni- I can't wait for you to have one of your own either!

  4. Gorgeous! :D
I can't wait to see it in person. ;)

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Gorgeous!! January is so too away. The high-tech doohickee is a QR (Quick Response) code :-)

  6. Pixie- thanks! You too.

Safari Poet- Yay! We have someone who can explain the doohickee! Now, what exactly is a Quick Response code?

  7. OMG!! it's gorgeous!!!I love it!

  8. Ooh, so cool! Definitely makes for good wallpaper. :)

And QR codes are nifty little things where you use your smartphone camera to zoom in on the code, and it takes you to a website. I don't have a smartphone, but my dad is a crazy techie and uses QR codes all the time.

  9. Tristi and Alba- Thanks so much!

Shallee- Oooh, I'll have to give it a try. thanks!

  10. Brodi, this is lovely, and the blurb from Becca Fitzpatrick--incredible! I wish that little doohickie really would transport us into your book. Wallpaper away!

  11. so so happy for you! i actually held your mother's copy...can't wait to read your book for our book group. will you consider being a visiting author? xox

  12. oh, and the dedication...perfect. xox

  13. Congratulations! It must be such an amazing feeling.

  14. love it!!! am finishing up my week in calif. preparing for a major bout of depression to hit me as i enter back into reality. you rock brodi!

  15. Eve Marie- Thanks so much! I was very excited about the blurbiage from Becca. I'm still jumping up and down, and it's been about a month. :)

Cristie- Of course I will visit your book group! Name the date, and I'll be there. I just appreciate y'all being willing to read it!

Kaye- It is a good feeling. Like bubbles in a soda feeling.

Dorien- You know what cures "back from vacation" blues? A girls night. let's do it. :)

  16. Seriously - this is so gorgeous! Telling Rob sunday that I'm first on the wait list!

  17. Gorgeous! You must be thrilled. I could almost hear your voice in the printed words of your post.

  18. Love, love, LOVE! Can't wait to have my own EVERNEATH cover!! Um...but perhaps with the book inside it? :D Release day seems too far away. *sigh* I am dying to read it NOW! :)

  19. Cath- wait! Don't tell him yet, because my loaner arc ended up on a detour. Hopefully he'll have it by next Sunday!

Donna - its a good thing the words don't have my actual voice, because it would all come out in a sceam.

Kristin- it really is so far away! Time is moving very slow right now, for me too.

  20. I love it!

That is actually a QR code, if you scan it with your smartphone it would link you to a website. ;)

Can't wait to read your book!
